I found a great desk , while going through my boxes and boxes of furniture, that I really must sort out ! Im really not sure whether to leave it as it is and add ornate knobs or to change it completly and maybe paint and distress, what do you think?
I have placed some of the items we have been collecting for ages now, and already its looking good.
He really should have a grander chair, will have to make one, but for now this comfy old resin chair has been painted in a green and gold so it looks quiet wizardy.
The wonderful Fawkes the Pheonix was made for me a year or so ago by our good freind Liz, and he will be stood by the desk. He dosnt show up as well in the photo, he is full of gold sparkle to his feathers, ( all made from fimo!!)
We have to design the bookcases still for the left side of the room. So undecided as to whether to have floor to ceiling bookcases all the way along or to put a fireplace in the centre. So until we get inspiration we will work on the desk and other side of the room.

Love all the bits and bobs on the Desk Kate. Quite taken by that Orrery. I have one of those on my to do list..
Loving the desk and all the wonderful bits on it.... although it needs some dust and piles of books, methinks its too clean or maybe thats just me and my normal housework routines! LOL
The desk is fabulous! I would add some ornate knobs and live it as is . . it looks grand! I have that chair :) You did a wonderful job changing the color!! Hugs :)
Thanks Guys! Im tempted to leave as it is, and add knobs, not sure what yet. Dont worry Wendie, the dust will be there before you know it!! I have lots of papers, scrolls etc to go onto it, I have to singe them later today, a job I loathe as I always burn myself!
The good thing about the open fronted haunted house is that its covered in dust but it dosnt matter as it adds to the effect!! lol
How fun! Its looking fantastic and I am especially loving the chair! I agree a big pile of scrolls would just make it! - Ara
PS. Mansion is going slow! hopefully it will start picking up this long Memorial day weekend!
Don't you just love a nicely messy desk! LOL. This is great but I agree....it needs more "stuff"! The dust, of course, will appear as if by magic...

I just wanted to show off the bits collected so far, so the desk isnt exactly as it will be, lots more things to go onto it, under it etc to give it that busy 'head wizard' feel to it! Also going to have a few of the drawers open with lots od documents tumbling outxx
I have enjoyed checking out your site. The desk in wonderful. So much detail.
Love the Sweeny Todd music you have on your music selection!
Looks great, Kate! Don't forget the "Pensieve" in the hidden cabinet. ;-)
Welcome Donna, glad you like the blog! I just love the Sweeney soundtrack, Im very sad and know all the words so I annoy all the family singing it!!
Kat, I really would love to do the pensieve, just cant figure out an easy way, but really want to have it maybe in the centre of the bookcases somehow. The rooms really narrow, wish it was bigger so I had more room! xxx!
Kate I love that desk, all those bits and bobs go together wonderfully.
