Whilst going through all my old mags yesterday I came across Feb 2004 edition Of Dollshouse magazine with a great article on making a Barber shop Scene.
I know George the Mini guy is working on one also, and even though its not the sort of unit I will be making, I thought id post it incase its of any help, of of interest to anyone else.
This scene uses a sink with a wooden shelf unit made surrounding it, and loads of different beads to make the bottles , which look great.
I myself am having just a table with jug and bowl like in the film, but this is still a great unit that could be adapted for a barber of hairdressers salon.
The chair is where i come unstuck. There are only 2 I have found in miniature. 1 far too modern, the other far too expensive!!
In this article a carver chair is debacked and made to slope backward and then leather arms made and headrest.
So I may go with this option for ease until I can find an affordable chair. I have somewhere Im sure an elegant carver i can take to bits and fiddle about with! I would add to it and put a footrest on also.
Hope its of some interest, its amazing what you can find when you search for other things!

I know what you mean, Kate! I found some chairs on the internet that I think may work for my beach cottage (constantly changing my mind, LOL) and I am going to have to kit bash some chairs in order to make them look like I want them to. Occassionally I will go through the MANY mini mags I have and always find ideas and inspiration!! Hugs
This looks good! I love the chair!
