WOW look what John got me at the Car Boot Sale this morning!
I really didnt want to leave our bed early so John went out at 7.30 with Lola and I had another hour in bed before the other 2 woke and we took a slow stroll down the road to the park.
I wanted to have a look for a shelf unit for my full size potion cabinet and sometimes you get a bargain at our local sport club car boot.
When I got there Lola and John were very excited as they had grabbed me a bargain they said but I couldnt see it before the end of the sale. So we walked around a bit, got the children so really cheap play things to keep them amused for the next week of the holidays before they go back to school.
Didnt find any nice pine shelves or cupboards, better luck next time, so we walked back to the car and John drove us round to pick up his 'Find'
There it was a HUGE Georgian Dollhouse. 4 floors tall!
It was hand made by the ladies father for her and her sister years ago and she was selling it for her sister who had emigrated. She'd left it to her sister hoping that when her grandchild was born in August it could be handed down, but the child was born and was a boy so it had to be sold ! It is really solid, not like these cheap kits you get nowadays. Solid wood, very heavy, fully lit in every room, including the attic. It has fireplaces from floor to cieling in every room, and beautiful wooden staircases. A really lovely house to do up and hand down in our family.........along with all the others, hope they have big houses when they are older!!!!!
Not only was there the house, but a big box of furniture, and a lit chritmas tree among it, so cute!
And how much was this Bargain?........................................a whopping..................£20, yes £20 ( about $30 dollars i think?) for the whole lot, house, lighting, furniture!!!!!
Now I know I have no room left, and so many projects to do first. It needs alot of TLC, its very dusty, needs decorating and carpets etc, but what a fab house, John knew if Id been there at 7.30 and Id seen it, Id have had to have it, so he grabbed it quickly as it came out of her boot and did the deal!!!
I seriously need to get some pennies together so I will be putting some minis on ebay, mainly counters and furniture not needed in the next few weeks, so I can get some money together, but to come home with this without breaking the bank dosnt make me too guilty! Hope you like it. Now I have to get out the duster !
Oh and guess what I found in the bottom of the box.....a perfect sized white jug and bowl for the Sweeeny barber table! Maybe Ill find a lamp too, how great would that be!

Wonderful find!
Are you mad taking on another, lol.
It's going to be fun to do up.
Looks like you are going to start having to look for a mansion to house your houses. I thought i was bad with three... opps 4 including the mushroom one.
I put some pictures of sweeney todd on my harry potter blog. The house has been built by a man called Brian Long. Its really good and thought it would be helpful for you. There is a link for you too on the blog.

OMG 20 quid (no I am not that common...I don't have a pound sign on my keyboard lol)
That is a steal...such a wonderful house..what fun you'll have.
Hey Kim, I will try and take a picice of the jug and bowl on the new table for you xx
Linda, it is a find isnt it, I expect you can see how it could look, just wish you lived near so you could help me!!!!!!!!!lol xxx
Thankyou once again for all your kindness i will try and get that paintwork right!! xx
Kim, he he, the only thing annoying about meeting such wonderful people on the blogs is that you all dont live down the road so you could all help me.......I would give you the kitchen to create for me, that would keep you happy!! It will take a while, but will get there eventually! xxx
Nikki, I know I know, Im quite MAD!!!!! It is sat on the Dining table so no one can eat at the moment! Will try and get it into the conservatory so I an paint it easier but your right we need a BIG house!! What with all Johns collectables and garage full of classic scooters etc, its never a dull house. Freinds love coming cos they say they can spend hours just looking at everything! They even seem to spend an age in our cloakroom which is dedicated to Wallace and Gromit, shelves full of things, pictures, clocks etc, so much to see.........see told you quite MAD!!!!
Hi Ara and Jamie and Jayne , yep love those bargain days, the whole boot fair was a success, we got so many bargains!John made us all walk back as he struggled to put the £5 rattan sofa on the roof rack, and a whole bathroom cabinet and shelf set for £4 in the Landrover with the dollhouse and more. Didnt find my pine cabinet I want but maybe next time!!xx
OMG, what a fabulous find! Give that hubby of yours a big pat on the back for going out early and snapping that up for you!
Oh, I can just see the fun you're going to have with this house!
Thanks for sharing and keep us posted!
Hugs,
Teresa
