After getting thoroughly inspired by reading Sabiha's ( http://sabsminiinteriors.blogspot.com/) blog post about her bookcase which she has used to house her dollshouse projects , I decided to have a shift about with all my own houses!
I have a similar style bookcase to Sabiha's which I got on ebay although its an IKEA white bookcase with moveable shelves.
I moved this out of our conservatory onto the landing and it now houses various projects and dolls. Tricky to take a full on shot without falling down the stairs!
All my fav books from different movies are on the top shelf , then under this are some of my beautiful dolls which so far have no homes ready for them, and so Ive decided to display them as they are for now until their projects are ready!
On the first shelf , I have put my wonderful Sweeney Todd, made by the one and only Julie of http://bellabelledolls.blogspot.com/ .
With his dresser and Barber Chair, made by Dear Ara, and complete with this fantastic customer made by Julie also. He has a slit throat and lots of blood!
Ill take more and better pics of these soon, as I want to add Mrs Lovett to this display once I sort it all out properly. My Chest is here also complete with Perelli's hat by Kat and arm hanging out of the box....( Julies fab work again! ) love it!
Next to Sweeney is a doll Ive had for some years and absolutely love! The amazing Edward Scissorhands made by Lesley Hughes of Oaak Diddy Dolls, http://ooakdiddydolls.blogspot.com/was probably one of my first dolls, and I found the perfect setting for him at a car boot sale of a glass house.
I want to make the setting with a background of topiary bushes for him, and I promise to complete it one day!
For now at least hes on display , in his fab leather outfit and lethal looking scissor hands!
Jack was also a doll made by Lesley, as was the awesome Zero complete with his own grave! I love them.
When I had got Jack I asked Lesley if she'd make any of the other dolls from the film and she was halfway through making Sally so I was thrilled to own her as well and add her to my collection.
She is admiring Jack's wonderful wand on a stand, made by the oh so talented Lorraine from . Not only is the wand by Lorraine http://dollhouseminisbydfly.blogspot.com/, but also all these spectacular gravestones and pumpkins which complete the spooky setting.
Another collection piece is my Nightmare Christmas tree made by the lovely Sherry. http://19thdayminiaturessherrys.blogspot.com/
I have lots of Sherry and her daughter in law, Tara's work now and am always thrilled to add their pieces to my projects. They are full of life, fun and originality!
Now here is the new layout of the conservatory.
We have a large pine table and chairs centrally and a wicker sofa on the left side, so I only have the right hand side to play with. I have put all my shops which after much resoration and renovation will be my Harry Potter shops down this side of the wall. Honeydukes, 2 Sid Cooke single fronted 2 storey shops, to eventually be the wizard shop, and apothecarys, and another double fronted Sid Cooke which will be Glad Rags.
Going round the corner is my Tudor 3 storey House which is to be my Potter style Inn, complete with lots of Jains http://giddykippercharacters.blogspot.com/ ( witches and wizards as and when I can get them . I have several in there so far, but Id love so many more!
Then on the end is my wizard/dragon Tower. This is to be full of wizard miniatures and lots of dragons, as Im slightly addicted to Nicky Coopers and already have a lovely collection. I can never have enough!
My Snow White House and Antique shop are on a table to the left, so its stacked with dollshouses in here. Well, the way I see it, Im 43 now, so have a fair few years to do up all these resoration projects, so maybe if you come back in 20 years I may have half done at least!!!
Thats it for now. Ive been sweet making this week, but will take pics when I get another counter filled. Have a good weekend!

Hi Kate! Thanks for showing us an up close shot of the dolls! I can't believe you have Eward Scissorhands doll! I think a topiary scene would be awesome!
:)
My mini treasure is not so great, but I have no where to store ...
Glad you found a way to organize your beautiful miniatures! :D
Hugs
Kate, the bookcase looks great! I just LOVE all the dolls that you have in it, especially the Nightmare Before Christmas ones! Darren's mom had a bookcase that she gave me awhile back that I had put my roombox in. I love it! Each shelf has a glass door that opens so everything stays dust free! I so hate dusting! If I would have made the roombox a little longer it would have fit perfectly. I thought it would be cool to do a roombox on each self but like you it would probably take 20 years to finish too! hee hee
Hope you have a great weekend!
Jamie
What a delight to see your houses and shops altogether and what you have planned for the future! ;o) It's been great for me to see both the double fronted bowed window shops so close together, because I can clearly see how much bigger the dearer on is and the one I want. :o))
I still love the dark red shop on the end...something different about that shop. :o))
Wonderful to see all your characters too, I've not seen these before!! It's a shame to have them packed away so great to see them out.
I think its a great idea to have room boxes and one room shops in bookcases, I know Julia J has been doing this for some time and I love how she has them in her dressers too, and they become integral to her home. I love the idea in sentiment, but as an avid book reader and collector I don't have room for anything other than books in my bookcases! lol However, if push came to shove I have a a long bookcase that's waist high that the top could be used for a number of shops etc. :o)))))

Hi Katie, hes awesome isnt he I love my Edward! He has his one heart shape topiary but id like to make more and I have this lovley shaped glass house which Im hoping to put him in and then it can hang from the ceiling, so another different way to display my dolls! xxx
Hi Eliana, the bookcase is a great idea if you dont have much room. Im sure your projects will grow, miniatures are so addictive! xxx
Hey Jamie, I knew youd like these dolls! Thats what John said that I need perspex or glass in front as I hate to dust too he he! I have room for another scene so Im thinking of the Alice tea party on that 3rd shelf, I have lots for it already! xxx
Hi Michelle, well there you go, more excuses for more shops if you have a bookcase with free space! We have a houseful of bookcases, even the children have massive floor to ceiling ones stacked with books, we are all book mad, but I bought this one cheaply so this was a perfect idea for it. I think the Alice tea party will go well in that free shelf! Its lovely walking into the conservatory now to see all the shops. I need to get some sort of cover in the colour of paving sorted to run the length of the shops, which would look better! And I agree, my dolls should be out on show, and I have more too to find room for! Pics soon! xxx
Great idea kate. I love all you future shops! I wish there was more time in the day to finish my started projects. I love your Edward doll, I have one that is 18 inches tall that my daughter got me for Christmas years ago.
Hugs
Victoria

Hi Victoria, I got another Edward doll all boxed up from a car boot sale a few weeks back. He is bigger than 1 12th scale, probably about 10 inches or so high and its really spooky, Ill post a pic when I can, going to keep him boxed he may be worth something one day! xxx
Hi Natalie, Im abit of a Tim Burton nut. Im glad I have a shelf left to play with as I have lots more things I want to display! xxx
Thanks for showing us your display - you are obviously having fun organising them all. I display my quarter scale houses on a bookcase too, and am presently constructing a new and larger one, with glass doors this time. My twelth scale houses are in various places through our RL house or in storage - I'd love to have a conservatory!! We really need to be able to see our creations, to look and dream and be inspired....
I agree Sandra, ive had too many things siting in boxes! I do wish I had the glass to stop the dust though so yours is a great idea, would love to see pics! xxx
What a wonderful "collection," Katie! It is always such fun to take the "tour" of others works. I am ever amazed by the loads of talent out there is cyberspace. Modern technology has given us a marvelous media through which to "share" our love of miniatures. I love it! Thanks for caring enough to give us a look into your private world of collecting. Mega mini hugs.
