Well I just checked with Angie if is was ok to post a pic of her amazing potion cupboard, this is real life size, not mini, I would SO like one this size in my workshop!!!But we thought we could use it as inspiration for a potion cupboard in the Potion room. Love the cauldron too so will try out Nikki's tutorial for making a large one like this.
Going to fill it with jars and bottles and skulls and things just like in the pic.
Any tips on what we could use for the mossy stuff? It needs to be a pale straw type colour, want to use it like Angie has to put behind the jars and on the cupboard itself.
We thought we could use the great tutorial On Tallulah Belle's blog for making shelves, using strips of wood.
Still stuck on the colour of the room. This cupboard is a greyish colour and I think it looks cool so may go along those lines.

Could you unravel some rough twine for the mossy stuff. or look in a model railroad shop...they might have something suitable. Their landscaping stuff is often better than you see in dollhouse shops.
You should try your cupboard like the one I did...sooo easy.
Kate have a look under the scenic stuff that they use for the Railway models. I'm sure your get something very similar.
Try the war hammer modeling shops, but you can use florist moss. Before you do use it, mix some pva with water and paint and dab on. This makes it shrivel (better for miniatures) and will make it stronger and prevent little bits breaking off. Do all your moss like this before you glue in place on your cupboard, Use equal amount of water and pva.

How do you find these things out Nikki! Id never think of adding pva to moss to shrivel it, you come up with some great tips!!

Well the suggestions I had have already been voiced by Deb, Nikki, and Jayne. So I will simply say what a fab shelf that is and if I figure out a fourth suggestion I shall let you know. :-)
Oooh Mini kat, i have a 4th... lol.
You could use wool thats bobbly (not a real word) and fluffy (check out the wool shop). Cut into short lengths and pull the fibers apart.
I do have another suggestion but i know this sounds mad, dont know what the product is or where to get it so won't go there. I can't even describe it.
